A Standard Guitar

Neck

  • typically consists of a fingerboard (or fretboard) where the frets are located, allowing players to press down on the strings to create different notes.

Guitar Box

Frets

  • Frets are metal strips embedded in the fretboard of a guitar, and they play a crucial role in determining the pitch of the notes played.

Headstock

  • The headstock is the top part of the guitar neck, where the tuning pegs are located. It is typically shaped to provide balance and aesthetic appeal. The headstock's primary function is to anchor the strings and facilitate tuning.

  • Sit Up Straight: Use a chair without armrests.
  • Position The Guitar: Rest the guitar on your right leg/ The body should sit snugly against your leg
  • Angle The Neck: Tilt the neck slightly upwards to make it easier to reach the frets
  • Use A Strap: Attach a strap to the guitar. Adjust it so the guitar hangs at a comfortable height.
  • Balance The Guitar: The guitar should sit at a height where you can reach the neck comfortably without straining
